Serveco is a specialist provider of support staff for the supported living sector across the UK. Since 2002, we’ve been exclusively focused on offering the right support for vulnerable individuals.

With our headquarters in the Midlands, we are a team of experts dedicated to providing high-quality support workers who can make a real difference. We are not a security company or a general staffing agency.

Q: What areas does Serveco cover?

Headquartered in Retford in Midlands, Serveco has built its reputation and network of clients nationwide.

Our key bases cover Cambridgeshire, East Yorkshire, Kent, Leicestershire, London, Nottinghamshire, Oxfordshire, and South Yorkshire. However our staff are located across the nation and on-hand to work to your needs.

Q: How are staff vetted?

We believe in open communication throughout the recruitment process. That’s why we encourage our clients to participate in informal meet-and-greets with shortlisted candidates. 

This allows both parties to assess suitability and ensure a good fit. Many clients find this step valuable, but it’s entirely optional.

If you prefer a more streamlined approach, we’ll handle the selection with the same level of care, conducting thorough screening interviews and background checks, including an enhanced DBS check for the final candidate.

Along with a recruitment policy, Serveco also utilises the Safer Recruitment process, which enforces pre-employment checks for all prospective staff to identify and deter or reject individuals from jobs or opportunities if they are deemed to not be suitable to work with children and vulnerable young people.

Q: Is Serveco a security company?

We work exclusively in the homeless and supported living sector. We are not a security company or staffing agency, especially as we have many aspects and specialties in our area of work.

Q: What is SMART?

The SMART – Support Mentoring and Response Team offers mobile security solutions for vulnerable residents in temporary housing situations.

Here’s a snapshot of the services offered:

  • Cost-effective patrols: We provide roaming security checks across multiple projects in a specific area, eliminating the need for a dedicated security guard at each location.
  • 24/7 support: The team is available around the clock to offer phone assistance and guidance to residents. They can also escalate situations and coordinate emergency services when needed.
  • Lone worker support: Our team are an on-call support system for lone workers employed by clients, offering reassurance and intervention during challenging situations.
  • Response for unmanned projects: For completely unmanned projects, our team becomes the primary point of contact and response service for residents, ensuring their safety and well-being.
